It immersed players in a way other Resident Evil installments could not fully achieve through third-person perspectives. Players were skeptical of Capcom's decision, and the game's PlayStation VR may have been a factor in the POV change. Regardless of the reasoning, this was extremely effective for upping the suspense. Resident Evil 7 is the first main series game to be in first-person. Ethan must explore the winding halls gathering resources, solving puzzles and unloading round after round into mutated monsters. With serious Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibes, Resident Evil 7 transplants players from the typical urban setting into a dimly lite farmhouse that evokes feelings of isolation and terror. He's a capable fighter, but his skills are civilian compared to the usual military characters seen in the franchise. They somewhat introduce input delay and make the camera movement feel slow. The story follows the new protagonist, Ethan Winters, who is searching for his wife in a desolate farmhouse occupied by a cannibalistic family. * Advice: if you're playing with a controller (consoles or on PC), turn off the movement camera acceleration and aiming camera acceleration settings. Not including Ethan though lol, however he's honestly better this time. Really interesting, very well acted and fun to watch.

The characters are some of the best in the series. Backtracking here is the most fun and rewarding in all of the RE games. RE Engine strikes again! - Puzzles are fun and rewarding. That's a technical marvel considering the quality of its graphics, level design and performance. RE8 has some of the highest highs in the franchise. It’s well balanced, diverse and refreshing. Presenting different types of horror along the way, mixing them up with action / adventure elements & sequences while still being within its survival horror medium. It has more freedom and exploration than previous RE games as I mentioned before, which I liked very much! - The game does a really good job of changing its intensity from time to time. The game allows you to take control of your own pacing at certain sections. There is clear emphasis on exploration and side content. The game's setting really makes you feel like you're playing in a horror themed amusement park. The game INSANELY nails the interior design of its levels I find myself stopping every 5 mins or so just to absorb the beauty of it all. Really liked how the village was structured with more ways to explore and search its houses. Levels are intricately crafted, with more ways to explore them. The intro is horrifying! - From the first few hours, you'll quickly notice how big and diverse the game is. Sound design is also the best in the series. Very atmospheric, and its got a lot of variety in that aspect as well. It's INCREDIBLY detailed, well designed and STUNNING to look at.

Easily and by a huge margin, RE8 is the best looking RE game ever. I’ve enjoyed my time playing it and I think it’s A MUST BUY for every RE fan or a survival horror fan. The game feels like it’s a celebration for RE’s 25th anniversary. “It’s RE4+RE7.” This is true, but it also has inspirations from almost every RE game. In fact, one section in the game has probably the scariest and creepiest moment in the entire franchise. From RE7 type of horror, to RE4 (panicking), and to Silent Hill / PT level of horror + other types. “It’s not scary.” hella WRONG! This game has different types of horror. It’s got a perfect length for an RE game, not to mention that it has post-game content and good replay value. RE8 has more exploration and side optional in-game content more than any previous RE game. The in-game timer literally lies to you, if you’ve played 12 hours, it will tell you that you spent 7 or 8 hours. The game can easily take more than 12 hours to finish. “Short game or it’s 8 hours only.” This is straight up WRONG. The game can easily take more than 12 hours Some misconceptions about RE8! 1.
